ENDOMETRIOSIS: CAUSES INFERTILITY

Thousands of women in Peru live with endometriosis without showing any symptoms, diagnosis sometimes can last between five and ten years since the first symptoms are detected. Time during which the disease progresses and can have very serious consequences on the quality of life of those who suffer.



Endometriosis is the emergence and growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterus, particularly in the pelvic cavity and the ovary, behind the uterus, in uterine ligaments, bladder or bowel. In terms of fertility, endometriosis would prevent the implantation and normal development of the embryo to form the future baby.

Symptoms

It manifests itself in different ways, menstrual cramps, pain during or after sex, painful bowel movements or painful urination during menstrual periods, pain in the lower back and pelvis, among others.

Within the group of women with infertility , 65% is due to endometriosis, undoubtedly cases of endometriosis have increased worldwide , making it the leading cause of infertility is therefore making a pitfall in reproductive health of women.

The increase of endometriosis among women may be because women are not receiving adequate treatment , this due to a lack of prevention education. It is a difficult disease to be diagnosed , so it is important for all women from 18 comprehensive gynecological checkup which may prevent many diseases, including endometriosis is made.
