THE BREAST SIZE NOT GUARANTEE THE PRODUCTION OF MILK

If you went through your mind that breast size determines the production of breast milk during nursing, this totally wrong ; this excess in size is determined by the amount of fatty tissue that have, not by the quantity of milk-producing glands . Thus, small breasts can have a highly developed mammary gland able to produce milk for a long time.

However, still there are prejudiced myths and, without medical support, that by having small breasts the milk production is diminished. You must banish this type of things and encourage the importance of breast milk in the newborn , since it is your first food , essential in the first six months of life.

The mother will produce amount of milk that the baby demands. If the baby suckles more continuously, more milk will be produced , while if the baby breast little bit, milk production will decrease.

Regarding its production process, the milk begins to form during pregnancy , but it is the hormonal reaction after childbirth which stimulates the mammary glands to produce milk and lead it to the nipple so the baby can access it. This is undoubtedly a natural process that is ideal for baby's development .

This milk production occurs in most women after childbirth, but there are cases where certain physiological circumstances complicate breastfeeding. But in any case, the size of the breasts is not one of those impediments to nurse the baby.

So, having small breasts should not be a problem for mother or baby regarding breastfeeding. If it is important prepare the nipple to make it easier the suction by the newborn.
