RISKS OF BEING DAD AFTER FORTY YEARS

We know that women, with the passing of the years, diminish their ability reproduction since in each menstruation are released eggs naturally, until the termination of the reproductive period, known as menopause.

In the case of males, are believed to be fertile throughout their lives and are capable to have a child regardless of their biological age, but the truth is that from the 40 years their fertility declines by 70 %

As men age, this DNA in their sperm begins to fragment, causing infertility. Keep in mind that lifestyle also important like  the dietary habits and psychological state so that men have an active sex life without any problems.

The age affect male fertility in different ways, because it has been demonstrated than increased DNA damage in the sperm of men between 36 and 57 years is three times higher than men under 35 years. Compared to ejaculate volume, it decreases parallel with age, men aged between 30 and 35 produces approx. 4 ml and from 55, 2ml. The sperm motility in men 25 years is rectilinear in 64%, and from 55 to 60 years decreased to 24%.

It recommends all men, regardless of age, perform a computerized semen analysis, to have a successful study of reproductive quality.  If we find altered sperms, and we desire to be parents using assisted reproduction we can resort to in vitro fertilization (IVF) in which eggs and sperm are placed in a plate favoring fertilization in the laboratory; another is the technique of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), which selects the best and injects sperm into an egg; microinjection well morphologically selected sperm (IMSI), which selects the sperm using a powerful microscope (it increase to 12 000 times the original size); and lastly we have columns annexin , which through a magnet retains the sperm with fragmented DNA, leaving free good quality for use in assisted reproduction procedure.
